The galleries within this site represent a cross section of my past decade's work of drag racing photography, from early to late nineties.

Nothing compares to the feeling of a pair of Top Fuel dragsters leaving the start line.  A total of over 10,000 horse power unleashed between them, accelerating from 0 to 100 MPH in 0.9 sec with a thunderous shriek as flames flash 6 feet from exhaust headers from the supercharged, nitro fuelled, cars as
colossal forces pound the car, the track, and the driver.  A wall of earth shattering noise hits in to the spectators, overloading the senses of sight and sound with a furious spectacle.  In under 5 seconds the race is over as the cars cross the finish line at speeds approaching 300 Miles Per Hour.  It makes an unforgettable impression upon you.
In my photographs I try to hold a moment of time.  To capture and convey a brief moment of the power and fury of a drag race, showing it in detail missed in the blink of an eye.  A moment when the car and driver disappear in a cloud of smoke, or the chassis flexes to its limits as its wheels paw the air.
Take a moment to imagine the sights, sounds, smells, thrills and spills of a flat out, balls out, thunderous, heads up, drag race.  Enjoy!
